The Mormon Moment: It's a Wrap!

We're not quite sure what those who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints actually thought the Mormon Moment was.  To us the Mormon Moment was a catchy way of saying that <a href="http://mormon.org/" target="_blank">Mormon</a> topics were trending, and trend they did; on Google, Yahoo, the news, media, press, online, at work, at home and at play.<br /><br />Other than experiencing along with the rest of the world our <a href="http://lds.org/" target="_blank">LDS</a> faith being thrust into the lime-light, we don't really think it changed much of the day-to-day aspects of life for most Mormons. The Mormon Moment wasn't a job was it, cause if so, we are owed some back wages!<br /><br />Now that the presidential election is over and Governor Romney has said his gracious farewell, the press is letting everyone know that the Mormon Moment is over. So what will the Mormons do?<br /><br />If you're Governor Romney or the Mormons who voted for him, some of us will be sad at first, but not for long. Mormons are a people filled with faith and hope. Y'all we have survived an extermination order, a pioneer trek to the desert and like Brotha Romney said in his gratitude-filled concession speech, we know how to pray. P. Diddy said: "Can't nobody take my pride, can't nobody hold me down, oh no, I got to keep on movin'!" And that's how the Mormons roll!<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCzbiNE1LZJOCtLZLbCYBzi_If1eVtS7by0mIsMYp1P9N5BVkgubpJLetiPgCQDa9gwkyrY2uMgcuZrRcxlsPqyoMV5j6xYH2dPgb-aqOuuL7ijSPms_avEYhUvK98dpMwhyphenhyphenqjLPRcscc/s1600/romney+sad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCzbiNE1LZJOCtLZLbCYBzi_If1eVtS7by0mIsMYp1P9N5BVkgubpJLetiPgCQDa9gwkyrY2uMgcuZrRcxlsPqyoMV5j6xYH2dPgb-aqOuuL7ijSPms_avEYhUvK98dpMwhyphenhyphenqjLPRcscc/s400/romney+sad.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />We will make Jell-o and some of us will put carrots in it. Don't judge us, we were doing it before the Mormon Moment, during the Mormon Moment and we sho ain't stoppin' now.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPcwLCSvqFkUxsNskPoHaI0RkazXQswUKsLy0u7wzjszdJjeVuI3KdUV1Bb5PGwlhUgkbcjBxgqFqdAP6ZQQhKpycyPrakdbxpEnYPvr_6S286j1Ex136Kj5DpgLAwDbN3GkL8LbSNutw/s1600/green+jello+with+carrots.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPcwLCSvqFkUxsNskPoHaI0RkazXQswUKsLy0u7wzjszdJjeVuI3KdUV1Bb5PGwlhUgkbcjBxgqFqdAP6ZQQhKpycyPrakdbxpEnYPvr_6S286j1Ex136Kj5DpgLAwDbN3GkL8LbSNutw/s400/green+jello+with+carrots.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We will still come knocking at you're door. 30 Days of WoW (Word of Wisdom)

A few months ago we were talking about the Word of Wisdom and what might be the effects or blessings of really studying it and challenging ourselves to focus on it for 30 days. That was in May, it took us until October to summon up the courage and now we're on day 3. The best part of our experience so far has been the conversations created. We're having so much fun talking to our friends both of our faith and other faiths about the WoW. <br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPqDPLBlgjtMM_lJsYWnrQZPZTSqlWHtrBniNWmaI4FtJlS35pPDJT3fLfQOpd6GGH4z7HhOXH8W7yVvG24EqDTfFwF2WKR_ld1pEIFhiGv22qkIKgDG0oydlrWrtVhPl6JWO6j9IXYTA/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPqDPLBlgjtMM_lJsYWnrQZPZTSqlWHtrBniNWmaI4FtJlS35pPDJT3fLfQOpd6GGH4z7HhOXH8W7yVvG24EqDTfFwF2WKR_ld1pEIFhiGv22qkIKgDG0oydlrWrtVhPl6JWO6j9IXYTA/s400/1.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Snagged some fresh strawberries from the farmer's market.</td></tr></tbody></table>The Word of Wisdom is found in Section 89 of the Doctrine & Covenants (a volume of LDS scripture). "The Word of Wisdom is a law of health revealed by the Lord for the physical and spiritual benefit of His children. (<a href="http://www.lds.org/topics/word-of-wisdom?lang=eng">LDS.org</a>)" You can read the WoW in it's entirety <a href="https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/89?lang=eng" target="_blank">here</a>.<br /><br />At the suggestion of many of you we are putting extra emphasis on the DOs of the WoW while still maintaining the don'ts. It's been trial and error for us and like we said we are only on day 3. We've found that it takes some preparation and it's been helpful to read the WoW each day.<br /><br />Some of the tenants of the WoW are things that are already in practice in our lives, we don't drink alcohol or use tobacco. However there are aspects like eating meat sparingly and eating fruits and vegetables of the season that we are learning more about. We decided to refrain from eating meat for 30 days. It's a little easier for Sista Laurel as she only eats seafood meats,  Sista Beehive could use some prayer, but it's been exciting for both of us as we try new recipes and have fun with fruits and veggies.<br /><br />We aren't saying that the WoW prohibits meat, we're just taking the opportunity to focus a little more on verses 12 & 13:<br /><blockquote class="tr_bq">12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;<br />13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.</blockquote>Anyway y'all, so far so good. We'll keep you posted. And please keep sending tips and recipes they have been helpful!<br /><br />God is Great,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel

A few months ago we were talking about the Word of Wisdom and what might be the effects or blessings of really studying it and challenging o...

Is Nicki Minaj Voting for a Mormon?

(We're paraphrasing the second part cause we gave up cussing in public this past Lent.)<br /><br />When questioned about Nicki's endorsement of Brotha Romeny, President Obama said, “I think she had a song on there — a little rap that said that, but she likes to play different characters, so I don’t know what’s going on there.”<br /><br />Nicki Minaj is known for having multiple alter egos, they have their own names and everything y'all. If you or the Sistas had a few extra personalities they would test us for schizophrenia, but in Hollywood it's just fine to have "personas" who talk to you and have their own personalities and voices.<br /><br />Even the President is on a first name basis with some of Nicki's personalities. He went on to say, “That was probably Roman who did it.” Roman Zolanski is a popular male persona of Nicki's. N-E-way it seems like the Prez might have been right since Nicki tweeted this:<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHFsuUYyzjP5S3bFlAqe8CooLcgoTC_xN0Ki70J9uwOqUCM7uDsi5yG2dQAvZ-_TNMe535oHfqBqU4baftTpmI7MHFgI1I9RdC5TiO2o-zeQ-Y9q1MACXkoLRAVKA5z3s7hG4n_Jk1Qgk/s1600/NMtweet2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHFsuUYyzjP5S3bFlAqe8CooLcgoTC_xN0Ki70J9uwOqUCM7uDsi5yG2dQAvZ-_TNMe535oHfqBqU4baftTpmI7MHFgI1I9RdC5TiO2o-zeQ-Y9q1MACXkoLRAVKA5z3s7hG4n_Jk1Qgk/s1600/NMtweet2.png" /></a><br /><br />We're still telling ourselves that Her Minajesty might have a sweet spot for us Morms though. In addition to mentioning Brotha Mitt, the song is featured on the album of Lil Wayne' who mentioned Jimmer Fredette in one of his raps.<br /><br />Hey Nicki, call us if  one of your personalties is interested in the LDS faith. We can send the missionaries over and we volunteer to be your visiting teachers. Us Mormons have been in the rap game for a long time, but we could always use new talent. Alex Boye does all the rapping for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, but maybe you could do a remake of the Mormon Rap!<br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="338" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UizvfOMrQDg?rel=0" width="450"></iframe><br /><br />Peace & Blessings,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel

As they were getting to know each other Nightline was peppering them with questions about being Mormon. At one point during the date they both ordered a Coke, which surprised the reporter who said that he thought Mormons didn't drink caffeine. Chris and Melissa didn't even tell the reporter dude to mind his own business and were nice enough to give Nightline an impromptu Word of Wisdom breakdown. Melissa seemed to bring out the more serious and inquisitive sides of Chris. Chris asked her about past relationships with non-Mormons and he didn't threaten to throw her into any water in front of the Nightline cameras. Melissa doesn't seem a damsel in distress, she took Chris to LA's Skid Row and didn't need to hold onto his arm. A quick hug at the door is how this date ended, but who knows, Melissa could be back because they both said see you soon before they left each others company.<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrusGluDmj1s9p7Z4Dn4HaYjgH9GKqW1NFk1gqSs-uctRNoVguIZzQ92NzT0fGj79rXcwx2OmGTwC0VjmY5BHnmcPxFkpk1U8fGb4y2RWsc0OUyJMlNSv0rXlHHgQwt-m43mygw1OJ4QY/s1600/painting.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="141" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrusGluDmj1s9p7Z4Dn4HaYjgH9GKqW1NFk1gqSs-uctRNoVguIZzQ92NzT0fGj79rXcwx2OmGTwC0VjmY5BHnmcPxFkpk1U8fGb4y2RWsc0OUyJMlNSv0rXlHHgQwt-m43mygw1OJ4QY/s200/painting.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 8: ARTSY FARTSY</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-7-heidi-kulicke.html" target="_blank">Heidi Kulicke - Date 8:</a> Right off the bat we're going to say that the Sistas don't think there will be a second date. We wish we could say it was our sixth sense, but it's because Chris said, " I really don’t think there is any chemistry there so there will probably not be a second date." Where's the suspense Chris? Remember when Sharla, date 5 left us hanging. Well even though there was no suspense it was still a fun date to watch. Heidi took Chris outside his comfort zone and had him painting, not even painting by numbers, but for real painting.Chris was really feeling himself and his artwork too, not in a cocky way, he just has a good dose of self-esteem. Heidi said that often at the end of dates she's feeling it and thinks the date went well, but for whatever reason, the guy doesn't have the same feeling. We wish we could say this date would be different, but alas, tis not so. In any case Heidi, you gave Chris some culture and now he's got a cool painting that his Mom can put on the fridge!<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikRt9L1gveqPYwoI3wqXZCjCq_fZMJt5athsovgafi82eqDPLitjw53rNALTRFp45gIOa5UsBICTD3GPsqQwcv1zgTZfawTjWbaRKUb-I_jk_rH7myF8TUkNs7wPvwhZdsR-a6gJV854E/s1600/1.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="181" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikRt9L1gveqPYwoI3wqXZCjCq_fZMJt5athsovgafi82eqDPLitjw53rNALTRFp45gIOa5UsBICTD3GPsqQwcv1zgTZfawTjWbaRKUb-I_jk_rH7myF8TUkNs7wPvwhZdsR-a6gJV854E/s200/1.png" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 9: TOUGH LOVE</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-9-natasha-ricksecker.html" target="_blank">Natasha Ricksecker - Date 9:</a> Natasha, a roller derby athlete says "gentle" is not a word she would use to describe herself. However she was quite soft-spoken and demure during the date, best of both worlds we guess. Now, we would love to know how Chris feels about this; in her pre-date comments Natasha said that even if a guy is "semi-cute" she'll still give him a shot, but she didn't say what she thought Chris ranked on the cuteness scale. She must have liked what she saw because there was definite chemistry between these two. Although there was chemistry, Natasha is a brunette and we can't help but notice that Chris is a little more hands on when it comes to blondes, thus far brunettes and red heads haven't gotten the PDA that Tiffany, date 1 and Sharla, date 5 received. Blonde or not though, Chris really enjoyed his date with Natasha and didn't want to see it come to an end and the date did end with a warm embrace. PS: We want to see dates with a little more action. Ladies stop taking Chris to dinner, we thought for sure Natasha would of had Chris in one of those roller derby outfits.<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkkXk3LI3K9WKPvi1bpCfz-TpNuCe_fGUQFTQYBZk5IiJnaWlHsQnvB03GbaZG5H6eoKUhALRAEDRP5X3gE1yDAGI1ou1LJO5KJiNmKUV2cEgUYgqupWFnJL-DmWhEN-U-qqWNWfiXVwo/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="152" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkkXk3LI3K9WKPvi1bpCfz-TpNuCe_fGUQFTQYBZk5IiJnaWlHsQnvB03GbaZG5H6eoKUhALRAEDRP5X3gE1yDAGI1ou1LJO5KJiNmKUV2cEgUYgqupWFnJL-DmWhEN-U-qqWNWfiXVwo/s200/3.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 10: PICTURE PERFECT</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/08/date-10-noelle-thiel.html" target="_blank">Noelle Thiel - Date 10:</a> This date strengthens our theory about Chris being big on blondes. These were the words he used to describe Noelle and the date; super sweet, sweet & sassy, phenomenal, very interesting girl, lots of fun, sweet heart, absolutely gorgeous and beautiful. Ya'll tell us, but Chris might like this one, no? Noelle planned a unique date, a photo scavenger hunt and picnic. They had a list of things that they had to find people doing or wearing and then ask them to take a picture with them. Our kind of date, rollin' up on random strangers and posing for pictures, we like your style Noelle. Noelle is a school teacher and you can tell, because at the end of the date she had Chris doing a project, scrap booking the photos they took. Smart lady, you gotta give a man a project sometimes, that's how you know if he's gonna be useful or not. Noelle can rest assured that she will be getting a second date, with all those complimentary words Chris was spittin'.<br /><br />What is the most fun date you have ever been on?<br /><br />Jesus Loves You,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel

Umm, nothing! Now Courtney, the Sistas are gonna help you read between the lines. Random dancing means that you have a fun -loving, easy-going guy, but expect the wedding video to end up on YouTube with a title like; Crazy Mormon Wedding First Dance. On the way to their paddle boarding date Chris talked about Courtney falling off the paddle board or maybe even throwing her off the paddle board. This could be Chris' <a href="http://www.sistasinzion.com/2012/07/sistas-in-zions-mormon-bachelor.html" target="_blank">damsel in distress</a> fantasy manifesting itself again. Between the lines it says your guy doesn't mind seeing you get a little rough and tumble, but Courtney hope you don't mind a little frosting in your hair. Cause it also means that dude is probably the type that will smash the wedding cake in your face on the big day. <span style="background-color: white;">There was a little awkward moment where Chris was talking about about college dorms and Courtney's eyes started to glaze over, but don't worry ya'll, she came back to life. At the end of the date Courtney said that if Chris had tried to kiss her she would have taken the kiss cause she's not very sly at rejecting kisses. Courtney, you gotta learn how to turn your head, cause now that the whole world knows that you can't reject kisses, every boy in your singles ward is about to test it out.</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT1WHpbsBO884uOyl9gMkeyHUxzgnkLUOWEBqvgVvjaaciP1wj-Bj8pFq-tpGtEs5syYkGDwsQTO6rczm6QFQKlayMEvSFSn6HZ48cTw2FrNo4RL35O1x6MLpvmw3GTkYKQrAz7dU3rc4/s1600/fast-and-furious.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="144" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT1WHpbsBO884uOyl9gMkeyHUxzgnkLUOWEBqvgVvjaaciP1wj-Bj8pFq-tpGtEs5syYkGDwsQTO6rczm6QFQKlayMEvSFSn6HZ48cTw2FrNo4RL35O1x6MLpvmw3GTkYKQrAz7dU3rc4/s200/fast-and-furious.jpeg" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 5: FAST & FURIOUS</td></tr></tbody></table><span style="background-color: white;"><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-5-sharla-klimt.html" target="_blank">Sharla Klimt - Date 5:</a> Three words: FAST AND FURIOUS. When the door opened, Chris was in a relationship and he didn't even know it. The hug was a long lingering one that went immediately to waist holding then right to hand holding. If a girl wears white jeans (which she looked fabulous in) on a first date, to go sit on the grass, she is bold. Sharla is not shy, she got her flirt on, and Chris was loving every minute of it. On the car ride over Sharla realized that she and Chris are the same. She thought that he was younger than her and that she was going be 'cougarin' on him. Some Mormons don't know, but in the real world a 'cougar' has nothing to do with BYU, it's an older woman who dates younger men. Technically Sharla is too young to be a cougar, she would be considered a 'puma' until about age 35, then after that she's a 'panther' and  around age 40 is where you hit cougar status. The coupledom continued with hand holding, sitting real close, and dance-cuddling. Ya'll know that Mormon rule about dancing far enough away from your partner that you can fit a Book of Mormon between you? Well we doubt you could have even slipped a New Era magazine between these two. Unlike Courtney's date, when Chris talked about college Sharla's eyes lit up and she used it as an opportunity to scoot closer. The goodbye hug on the doorstep was longer, tighter, and closer than the hello hug. And Sharla is the first TMB lady to score a goodnight kiss on the cheek from bachelor Chris! All that move making definitely earned Sharla a second date, but the episode ended with Sharla seeming unsure if she wants a second date with Chris. We're calling creative editing, but who knows, maybe Sharla prefers younger men, or maybe she was a little disappointed with a kiss on the cheek, she did put a lot of energy into wooing him. Chris has said he's not a first date kisser, so a kiss on the cheek is a big deal girl!</span><br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EjSV2OJXw-I1zdQgsEHbLmPSIq6H4Cd3yuFUEmH1w3GU5Pst1rUn_JZjEPu8iQPm7DS8zoqf6WK0ck13Ru2gJSiLmpNvcvDpWfcc188FfbBclww49LIJK0d082OLfJhyiNeuHTX8Qhg/s1600/bromance-logo2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6EjSV2OJXw-I1zdQgsEHbLmPSIq6H4Cd3yuFUEmH1w3GU5Pst1rUn_JZjEPu8iQPm7DS8zoqf6WK0ck13Ru2gJSiLmpNvcvDpWfcc188FfbBclww49LIJK0d082OLfJhyiNeuHTX8Qhg/s1600/bromance-logo2.jpeg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 6: BROMANCE</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-6-kent-tuttle.html" target="_blank">Kent Tuttle - Date 6:</a> Chris got stood up by date No. 6, TMB didn't tell us who she is and we hope it's not <a href="http://www.sistasinzion.com/2012/07/sistas-in-zions-mormon-bachelor.html" target="_blank">Salina aka Lady Kanye</a> because we are excited to hear about her first time on a plane. When Chris got to the door his friend Kent surprised him as his date. Kent Tuttle's name should be familiar to everyone because he is who was supposed to be this season's bachelor, but then he accidentally fell in love with a girl who was not on the show. Well he's Chris' roommate and BFF. No lingering hugs for this date, but they did do this handshake thing that looked like a BYU approved version of patty-cake. Chris and Kent talked about what's going on with them and we find out that Chris has a little trouble keeping the TMB ladies straight. He sent a text message to the wrong girl and got caught. It's understandable though, Chris is juggling more women than the guy on <i>Sister Wives. </i>Kent talked some about his choice to leave TMB and pursue his relationship with <a href="http://www.youtube.com/CarlieStylez" target="_blank">Carlie</a>. Kent says he is on cloud 9 and absolutely made the right decision and describes them as a 'power couple.' Kent seems to be a man in love and since we're having fun watching Chris, we're happy with the way things turned out too. Chris talked about speaking frankly about the girls he is attracted to on the show and we commend him for his honesty. He expounded on the the <a href="http://www.sistasinzion.com/2012/07/sistas-in-zions-mormon-bachelor.html" target="_blank">Jessica</a> issue and hopefully it is put to bed now. (At least until the reunion show, which the Sistas have nominated themselves to host.) It was a nice change seeing Chris just being one of the guys.<br /><br />Question: When dating is it cool for the lady to make the moves?<br /><br />God is Great,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel

After viewing an article entitled "<a href="http://gawker.com/5926650/black-ladies-of-america-will-you-let-these-mormons-sit-at-your-lunch-counter" target="_blank">Black Ladies of America: Will you let these Mormons Sit at Your Lunch Counter?</a>" We decided to find out more about the woman <i>Gawker</i> alleged was inviting us to a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensboro_sit-ins" target="_blank">sit-in</a>.<br /><br />When you hear the words, "black" and "lunch counter" we don't know about ya'll, but we envision something like this:<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizlc9X6PxWwrNfrPmXeXFKgvgpShCEyNu-KpmCoHwy6bOQTtkgOwk9_dWk2dcLBJlSN2hJOEb7LuLJenxLMxY-iBOT-cxSvaB4jfA_Q8dL4MO8sZU5jaGv49qfHa_BYYjo4bItHKG4WKY/s1600/lunch-counter-sit-in-1963-granger.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizlc9X6PxWwrNfrPmXeXFKgvgpShCEyNu-KpmCoHwy6bOQTtkgOwk9_dWk2dcLBJlSN2hJOEb7LuLJenxLMxY-iBOT-cxSvaB4jfA_Q8dL4MO8sZU5jaGv49qfHa_BYYjo4bItHKG4WKY/s400/lunch-counter-sit-in-1963-granger.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So we contacted Jeanette to get all up in her business and ask her about the creation of the infamous title, the response it is getting and what she has to say about it all. It turns out that what Jeanette actually asked in <a href="http://jeanettegazette.com/?p=1701#comments" target="_blank">her response</a> was, "Can we sit at your lunch table?" Which is a good thing too, because we have already attended our maximum allowed sit-ins for the week.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white;">Apparently</span> some people have already answered Jeanette's question and told her NO, she can't sit at the lunch table. Excuse you? You don't own the table, who made you king of the cafeteria? Jeanette explains that in asking the question, she envisioned a school lunchroom full of tables with different people sitting down, walking over to one of them and asking can I sit here?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDnq-_ILdmHe-sVgaWWpUu3IaSddUZzlP_zYxdD5f4fOwHTFO-Dfuz5MN86gC0_b_WST3XXV2gKGOjLRYOeKjkk_o2KXUfq0fdGX1csMvva2hnEm_9RoBrXxwz8qgEn61ZToxcUNHg2Mk/s1600/school+cafeteria.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDnq-_ILdmHe-sVgaWWpUu3IaSddUZzlP_zYxdD5f4fOwHTFO-Dfuz5MN86gC0_b_WST3XXV2gKGOjLRYOeKjkk_o2KXUfq0fdGX1csMvva2hnEm_9RoBrXxwz8qgEn61ZToxcUNHg2Mk/s320/school+cafeteria.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Well, come on girl, sit on down, there's plenty of room, you wanna swap sandwiches, we got lots to talk about. If you're not watchin', start watchin'. This is our recap of TMB: Week 1. We're breakin' it down Sistas style and keepin' it realz, here we go now!<br /><br />So in the <a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/season-4-premiere-is-here.html" target="_blank">premiere</a> we were introduced to four of the ladies who will be vying for Chris' eternal heart. The two that stood out to us were Natasha, she seems fierce ya'll, does roller derby and err thang, she will take Chris out if he don't treat her right. Now we also met Salina who is a sweet hometown girl. Salina said she had never been on a plane before, which reminded us of Ellie Mae from <i>Kanye's Work Out  Plan</i>. In Kanye West's song Ellie Mae is a girl that before doing his work out plan had never "rode a plane." (If ya'll go look up the song make sure you're listening to the edited version umm-kay!) The Sistas loving call Salina, Lady Kanye, we haven't seen her date yet, but we can't wait.<br /><br />Now on to the dates that we've seen:<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj5eYJczWPjRYS43F-HjoO_v62h0I4Agh7h4AAfxkb-1aQsnI5xSQ-K6zvNrrtUOcgYhRI3hbAcLz3Lq1HLd1b0yPut_2Pzpo-b8IicDpKyU49g8DfDTpXBikuzQ-wUxT8gneTQuh4uZE/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj5eYJczWPjRYS43F-HjoO_v62h0I4Agh7h4AAfxkb-1aQsnI5xSQ-K6zvNrrtUOcgYhRI3hbAcLz3Lq1HLd1b0yPut_2Pzpo-b8IicDpKyU49g8DfDTpXBikuzQ-wUxT8gneTQuh4uZE/s200/2.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 1: TOUCHY-FEELY</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-1-tiffany-migdat.html" target="_blank">Tiffany Migdat - Date 1:</a> We <a href="http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sistasinzion/2012/07/01/single-saints--mormon-bachelor-mormon-singles" target="_blank">meet Tiffany on Sistas in Zion Radio</a>, so we've got a soft spot for this girl with the bright smile. On their date you could see the chemistry. Chris was always touching her and putting his arm around her. Now Chris claims that he was putting his arm around her because she was nervous, but she didn't look so nervous that she was gonna fall over, so we think that all that touchin' and such was cause, well, he wanted to touch her. She seems like a girl that wears lotion and so her skin is probably soft. Please don't go getting the wrong idea though, all of Chris' touching was G-rated and <a href="https://www.lds.org/youth/for-the-strength-of-youth?lang=eng" target="_blank">For-The-Strength-of-The-Youth</a>-handbook  appropriate, he was a gentleman, we're just saying we're not buying the "because she was nervous" act. At the end of the episode Chris said that Tiffany seems high-maintenance. Chris, don't let a little maintenance scare you, Mormon Temples get closed for a few weeks every year for maintenance, so what's wrong if Tiffany treats her body like the temple it is? No man with a J-O-B should be scared if his girl likes to treat herself with a little T-L-C.<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRvADxhIMfhL4r-6jfwWyLavH1aNozPpH6tZaFqf38Lc5EVJEaj0oPuz0h8azF0lm7Fe08mTo8QG1_MSYZHEnXHFfSNbnj-9UMfm43MVPDSj7D-EwkoEa3vANFaa1xXevFWFvNakki9V8/s1600/3.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRvADxhIMfhL4r-6jfwWyLavH1aNozPpH6tZaFqf38Lc5EVJEaj0oPuz0h8azF0lm7Fe08mTo8QG1_MSYZHEnXHFfSNbnj-9UMfm43MVPDSj7D-EwkoEa3vANFaa1xXevFWFvNakki9V8/s200/3.gif" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 2: BIG GIRLS DO CRY</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-2-jessica-bradley.html" target="_blank">Jessica Bradley - Date 2:</a> Jessica is an event planner and Justin Beiber fan, ya'll know that could lead to one fantabulous meticulously-planned-Beiber-fever themed wedding. We'll jump right to the hubbub, at the end of the date Chris did not call Jessica a "sweet spirit," but did say that he was not physically attracted to Jessica. Kuddos to Chris for being honest, no girl wants to be strung along, but that doesn't take away the sting. Watching it was a cringe worthy moment for the Sistas, and Jessica later said that seeing it herself made her cry, you can read what Jessica had to say <a href="http://theebergdorfbrunette.blogspot.com/2012/07/throw-your-sticks-and-your-stones.html" target="_blank">here</a>. Not to mention people took to the <a href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2716790518921319695&postID=1363904012752710717&isPopup=true" target="_blank">comments section</a> of TMB in droves to give their opinion of Chris' opinion of Jessica. Having <a href="http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sistasinzion/2012/07/01/single-saints--mormon-bachelor-mormon-singles" target="_blank">met Chris on Sistas in Zion Radio</a> we must say that he was a gentleman and does not seem the type that's into making girls cry. So our synopsis is that the let-her-down-gently department of Chris' swagger could use a little more finesse and that his tears-inducing-statement was not meant to be such. The Sistas are still rooting for Chris to find true love, after all nobody is perfect and he too, like Jessica, is brave enough to let the world see him date. That's reality tv people, the good and the bad.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1m8mKS7jVKoCZ-IUg4Plpst1RC1PjyVaqU5kdUNr4oHh4xZyxQV1icSxxHtXQst_YQTysSAqm2v63CH8LfujKF725NWHN6sq3EUJNW0R9FTHdjG1GoMH7Ofzi-BRLYSv4WQM11WFwSos/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1m8mKS7jVKoCZ-IUg4Plpst1RC1PjyVaqU5kdUNr4oHh4xZyxQV1icSxxHtXQst_YQTysSAqm2v63CH8LfujKF725NWHN6sq3EUJNW0R9FTHdjG1GoMH7Ofzi-BRLYSv4WQM11WFwSos/s200/6.jpg" width="200" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">DATE 3: DAMSEL IN DISTRESS</td></tr></tbody></table><a href="http://www.themormonbachelorette.com/2012/07/date-3-danielle-morgan.html" target="_blank">Danielle Morgan - Date 3:</a> Danielle might be our sista from another mista because she seems to love to laugh as much as we do. This date changed it up a little because Chris said that he was the one that was nervous. However he must not have been too nervous because he didn't ask Danielle to put her arm around him as he did for Tiffany when she was "nervous." Chris said that one of his favorite parts of the date was when Danielle was afraid of the snakes on the pier. He said in his post date blog post, " I like it when girls squeal and get uncomfortable after a date." Sounds like Chris might have a thing for damsels in distress. Chris how far distressed are you looking for, a girl that grabs onto you in a scary movie distressed or a girl that needs help getting the light bill paid distressed? In any case we think that Danielle will be getting a second date. PS: There is a rumor that there is some footage floating around of a random dance outburst by Chris that occurred on this date....TMB ya'll know ya'll need to release that asap!<br /><br />So that's the Sista's week one breakdown and as you can see even though there are no hot tub scenes and make-out sessions like the other bachelor show, even The Mormon Bachelor comes with a little drama.<br /><br />Questions: When it comes to dating is there such a thing as being too honest? Because Chris is Mormon is the public more critical of him than they would be a non-LDS reality tv bachelor? Would you go on a reality show to find true love?<br /><br />God is Love,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel
