Sista Beehive on Black Mormons on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyiK2vXz1eKBwy5pB9xdLUtJQ67G1CPvnCDj43CwdimH1Vf7mf05dRRibUcUnhdnHB2Gr6-Lu6sehoWBtTARd6At6Rffm536CFCVarEzmlmBoJ9t5YCGoaWIjk63hBfYAr5yI4wRhboWU/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyiK2vXz1eKBwy5pB9xdLUtJQ67G1CPvnCDj43CwdimH1Vf7mf05dRRibUcUnhdnHB2Gr6-Lu6sehoWBtTARd6At6Rffm536CFCVarEzmlmBoJ9t5YCGoaWIjk63hBfYAr5yI4wRhboWU/s200/2.jpg" width="200" /></a>When I got the call that The Daily Show with Jon Stewart wanted to talk to black Mormons about our assumed voting dilemma the first thing I said was, "how did you get my number?" Cause where I come from you guard your phone number as much as you do your social security number.<br /><br />After I found out who I needed to call and <strike>cuss out</strike>  talk to about sharing my digits I said, "I'll think about it and let you know." That was three months ago and obviously I eventually said yes.<br /><br />Here's what I want y'all to know; we filmed for THREE, I repeat THREE hours. And I think that Jon Stewart might have something against Mormons cause craft services (that's what the call the people who feed you in showbiz) was no where to be found and we were HUNGRY. <a href="http://www.sistasinzion.com/2012/10/jimmy-kimmel-doesnt-believe-there-are.html" target="_blank">Jimmy Kimmel doesn't believe that black Mormons exist</a> and Jon Stewart is trying to starve to death the ones who do. That's probably why the black republican guy was so angry.<br /><br />And what they call argumentative and intolerant we call famine without a fast. When they locked a group of black people in a room for three hours without feeding them, what did they think would happen? They lucky we didn't start Hunger Games up in there. I'm sayin' not a drop of green jello was to be found. Well when we die I hope that Jon Stewart knows to get the funeral potatoes ready.<br /><br />At the end of the day the Sistas would consider going on The Daily Show again, but we are going to have to send him a rider with our list of demands cause Sistas gotta eat. And keep this on the DL, but Jon Stewart might moonlight as a Mormon Bishop cause none of us got paid to be on the show, y'all I think Jon Stewart tried to give me a <a href="http://lds.about.com/od/organizationsauxiliaries/p/church_callings.htm" target="_blank">calling</a>!<br /><br />Ps: All of us in the video actually know each other and are good friends, not that we're saying all black Mormons know each other...cause that would sound crazy...<br /><br /><b>Check out Sista Beehive on The Daily Show in the video below:</b><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="background-color: whitesmoke; color: #333333; font: 11px arial; height: 340px; width: 512px;"><tbody><tr style="background-color: #e5e5e5;" valign="middle"><td style="padding: 2px 1px 0px 5px;"><a href="http://www.thedailyshow.com/" style="color: #333333; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">The Daily Show with Jon Stewart</a></td><td style="font-weight: bold; padding: 2px 5px 0px 5px; text-align: right;">Mon - Thurs 11p / 10c</td></tr><tr style="height: 14px;" valign="middle"><td colspan="2" style="padding: 2px 1px 0px 5px;"><a href="http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-october-9-2012/the-black-mormon-vote" style="color: #333333; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">The Black Mormon Vote</a></td></tr><tr style="background-color: #353535; height: 14px;" valign="middle"><td colspan="2" style="overflow: hidden; padding: 2px 5px 0px 5px; text-align: right; width: 512px;"><a href="http://www.thedailyshow.com/" style="color: #96deff; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">www.thedailyshow.com</a></td></tr><tr valign="middle"><td colspan="2" style="padding: 0px;"><embed allowfullscreen="true" allownetworking="all" allowscriptaccess="always" bgcolor="#000000" flashvars="autoPlay=false" height="288" src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:cms:item:comedycentral.com:419963" style="display: block;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" wmode="window"></embed></td></tr><tr style="height: 18px;" valign="middle"><td colspan="2" style="padding: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="height: 100%px; margin: 0px; text-align: center; width: 100%px;"><tbody><tr valign="middle"><td style="padding: 3px; width: 33%;"><a href="http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/" style="color: #333333; font: 10px arial; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Daily Show Full Episodes</a></td><td style="padding: 3px; width: 33%;"><a href="http://www.indecisionforever.com/" style="color: #333333; font: 10px arial; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Political Humor & Satire Blog</a></td><td style="padding: 3px; width: 33%;"><a href="http://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow" style="color: #333333; font: 10px arial; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">The Daily Show on Facebook</a></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>Praise God Almighty,<br />Sista Beehive

Males can now serve missions straight out of high school and be back in the game at age 20. One must wonder if this option has crossed Mormon high school b-baller, Jabari Parker's mind?<br /><br />PS: We are saying many prayers for the MTC trainers who will now be <strike>plauged</strike> blessed by working with 18 year old boys.<br /><br />Hallelujah Holla Back,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel

30 Days of WoW (Word of Wisdom)

A few months ago we were talking about the Word of Wisdom and what might be the effects or blessings of really studying it and challenging ourselves to focus on it for 30 days. That was in May, it took us until October to summon up the courage and now we're on day 3. The best part of our experience so far has been the conversations created. We're having so much fun talking to our friends both of our faith and other faiths about the WoW. <br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPqDPLBlgjtMM_lJsYWnrQZPZTSqlWHtrBniNWmaI4FtJlS35pPDJT3fLfQOpd6GGH4z7HhOXH8W7yVvG24EqDTfFwF2WKR_ld1pEIFhiGv22qkIKgDG0oydlrWrtVhPl6JWO6j9IXYTA/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPqDPLBlgjtMM_lJsYWnrQZPZTSqlWHtrBniNWmaI4FtJlS35pPDJT3fLfQOpd6GGH4z7HhOXH8W7yVvG24EqDTfFwF2WKR_ld1pEIFhiGv22qkIKgDG0oydlrWrtVhPl6JWO6j9IXYTA/s400/1.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Snagged some fresh strawberries from the farmer's market.</td></tr></tbody></table>The Word of Wisdom is found in Section 89 of the Doctrine & Covenants (a volume of LDS scripture). "The Word of Wisdom is a law of health revealed by the Lord for the physical and spiritual benefit of His children. (<a href="http://www.lds.org/topics/word-of-wisdom?lang=eng">LDS.org</a>)" You can read the WoW in it's entirety <a href="https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/89?lang=eng" target="_blank">here</a>.<br /><br />At the suggestion of many of you we are putting extra emphasis on the DOs of the WoW while still maintaining the don'ts. It's been trial and error for us and like we said we are only on day 3. We've found that it takes some preparation and it's been helpful to read the WoW each day.<br /><br />Some of the tenants of the WoW are things that are already in practice in our lives, we don't drink alcohol or use tobacco. However there are aspects like eating meat sparingly and eating fruits and vegetables of the season that we are learning more about. We decided to refrain from eating meat for 30 days. It's a little easier for Sista Laurel as she only eats seafood meats,  Sista Beehive could use some prayer, but it's been exciting for both of us as we try new recipes and have fun with fruits and veggies.<br /><br />We aren't saying that the WoW prohibits meat, we're just taking the opportunity to focus a little more on verses 12 & 13:<br /><blockquote class="tr_bq">12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;<br />13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.</blockquote>Anyway y'all, so far so good. We'll keep you posted. And please keep sending tips and recipes they have been helpful!<br /><br />God is Great,<br />Sista Beehive & Sista Laurel
